THIRD TERM NEWS AND CONVERSATION CURRICULUM FOR RECEPTION

TERM THREE

Week 1 & 2

Topic:                    Things in the sitting/living room

Objective:           At the end of the lesson, pupil should be able to state which of the items in the home is food in setting room

Lesson 2 lesson

Material:             Charts on the living room

Activity:               Activity should include the touching and naming of objects in the picture

Evaluation:         Name too thing we can find in the sitting room

Week 2 & 3

Topic:                    Things in the Toilet

Objective:           At the end of the lesson pupil should be able to state which items can be founding   

                             the toilet

Lesson:                 2 lesson

Week 5

Topic:                    Correct use of the toilet

Objective:           At the end of the lesson pupil should be able to use the toilet correctly.

Lesson:                 1 lesson

Materials:           The School toilet

Activity:               This should include taking the pupils to the toilet to learn its  use & how properly e.g sitting on the boold, flushing the toilet, washing hand.

Evaluation:         Evaluation if this topic should be practical 

Week 6 & 7

Topic:                    Things in the kitchen

Objective:           At the end of the lesson pupil should be able to mention items that can be founding the kitchen

Lesson:                 2 lesson

Materials:           Chart on kitchen and kitchen utensils

                                The school kitchen (if available)

Activity:               Part from touching and naming items in the kitchen from a chart a visit to the school  kitchen is in order if the school has a kitchen

Evaluation:         Mention 3 things we can find in the kitchen

Week 8

Topic:                    Safety in the kitchen

Objective:           At the end of the lesson pupil should be able to state two to three don’t in the kitchen

Lesson                  1 lesson

Materials:           As in week 6 & 7 above

Activity:               Activity should include the emphasis on the child not temporary with shop object in the kitchen e.g. killers, not opening pots on the stove, not tasting a substance that they do not know.

Evaluation:         Evaluation should reflect the activity carried out.

Week 9 & 10

Topic:                    Things in the toilet

Objective:           At the end of the lesson pupil should be able to say those things we can find in the toilet

Lesson:                 2 lesson

Materials:           The class shopping corner.

Activity:               Preterie buying and selling with during notes will help to drive the part home

Evaluation:         Mention 5 things we can find n the toilet

Week 11              Revision
