School Resumption Date 2021 PTF -FCT- UNITY SCHOOLS – 18th of January 2021

The Presidential Task Force (P.T.F) concerning Covid-19 has ordered that all schools in Nigeria remain close until January 18, 2021. This is to reduce the spread of Covid-19 second wave. The presidential task force has appealed to everyone to comply with the new directive.

Unity schools (Federal Government colleges) borders will resume on the 17th of January 2021 while day students will resume on the 18th of January 2021 for the 2020/2021 academic

School Resumption Date 2021 Abia State – January 11th, 2021

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia has approved the reopening of all schools in the state on Monday, January 11, for the continuation of the first term 2020/2021 academic session.

Mr. Nwangwa directed all school heads and proprietors to ensure the observance of COVID-19 protocols for the safety of teachers and students.

“They should also note that by this directive, the first term of 2020/2021 will now officially end on Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2021.

“This is to ensure that the first term runs a full course as expected.

“Any school proprietor that short changes this schedule and decides to cut corners by running an abridged term will be appropriately sanctioned.

“The duration of the first term for the 2020/2021 academic session is from November 2, 2020 to February 10, 2021, with the Christmas break in-between,’ he said.

School Resumption Date 2021 Kogi State – January 18, 2021

According to the state Governor, ” Kogi state is not planning to shut down schools beyond January 18, 2021.”  That is, schools in Kogi state will resume on the 18th of January 2021, and not on the 4th of January as proposed, due to the second wave of Covid- 19 pandemic.

School Resumption 2021 – Osun State – Until Further notice

in a statement signed by the Coordinating Director, C.K Olaniyan, the Osun state ministry of education has postponed the resumption of school (public and private), until further notice due to covid-19 second wave.

“Contradiction shall attract closure of such a school,” the ministry warned.

“Parents are, therefore, advised to continue to take custody of their children and wards.

A new date for resumption will be announced soon after concluding with the ministry.

School Resumption 2021 -Akwa-Ibom State – 4th of January, 2021

  Schools in Akwa-Ibom state are to resume on 4th January 2021.

The reason for the dates was to prevent a disruption in the academic calendar, as the first term was due to end on January 23, 2021.

The government has directed the Commissioner of Education to ensure that all schools comply with the COVID-19 preventive guidelines.

School Resumption Date 2021 Benue State – 18th January 2021

Sequel to the directives of the Benue State Task Force on Covid-19 regarding the resumption of academic activities for the second term of 2020/2021 session, the Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Education, Prof. Dennis A. Ityavyar hereby directs all schools in the state to re-open on 18th January 2021 for the commencement of academic activities for the 2nd term.

Also, Heads of schools in the state are to ensure that Covid-19 preventive protocols are strictly observed during/after the resumption.

The Honourable Commissioner wishes all Teachers and Students a prosperous New Year.

School Resumption 2021 Anambra State – 18th of January 2021

Schools in Anambra state will resume on the 18th of January 2021, as directed by the Government of Anambra State. 

Schools are expected to finish the first term before returning for the second term.

All teachers, staff, and students must comply with the Covid-19 guidelines.

School Resumption Date 2021 Kwara State – January 18, 2021

Primary and secondary schools in Kwara State are to resume on January 18, 2021, while Tertiary Institutions are to resume on January 11, 2021. All schools must obey COVID-19 safety guidelines.

The state Commissioner for Communications, Afolabi Oshatimehin said, “The coordinating ministry is to work with the state technical committee on COVID-19 and other stakeholders to ensure that the schools do not take safety rules for granted”

School Resumption 2021 for  Bayelsa State – January 11, 2021

 The Commissioner for Education, Gentle Emelah, announced that January 11, 2021, is the resumption date for schools in Bayelsa as directed by the state government.

He also said that schools should comply with Covid-19 safety guidelines.

School Resumption date 2021 – Rivers state. January 4, 2020

According to the commissioner of education “The Ministry of Education wishes to announce that, with the approval of His Excellency Governor Nyesom Wike, the school calendar published in August 2020 stands. Accordingly, both public and private schools in the State are hereby reminded that schools will resume on 4th January 2021 for normal academic activities.”

Schools are to maintain all COVID-19 safety guidelines.

School Resumption date 2021 – Ebonyi state

The commissioner for education in the state, Dr. Onyebuchi Chima, in Abakiliki stated that all public and private schools in the state will resume classes on 18th January 2021 while higher institutions will resume academic activities on the 4th January 2021 as directed by the state government and to comply with the directives of the presidential task force on Covid-19.

School Resumption date 2021 – Lagos State – January 18, 2021.

The Commissioner for Education, Folasade Adefisayo, in a statement today (January 4, 2021) declares that in line with the Federal Government’s directive, Lagos State Government has approved Monday, January 18, 2020, as the resumption date for schools in Lagos.

She warned that all school should comply with the Covid-19 safety guidelines.

School resumption date 2021 Ogun state

The Special Adviser to the governor on Public Communications, Remmy Hazzan, on Sunday said, the Figures from NCDC would determine the reopening of schools.

School resumption date 2021 plateau state- January 18, 2021

The Commissioner for Education, (Secondary) in Plateau State, Mrs. Elizabeth Wapmuk, said that government would not reopen schools in the state until January 18, 2021 base on the directive of the PTF.

School Resumption date 2021 Zamfara state- January 4, 2021

The Zamfara State Commissioner of Education, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi, said resumption date for schools in the state is January 4, 2021.

School resumption date 2021 Gombe state – January 11, 2021

The Gombe State Commissioner for Education, Dr Habu Dahiru, said there was no going back on the January 11 resumption date for schools in the state.

School Resumption date 2021 -Delta State – January 11, 2021

Mr. Patrick Ukah, the Commissioner for Basic Education, had in a statement on Wednesday in Asaba, urged boarders to return on January 10 as classes would start on January 11, 2021, as directed by Delta State Government.

School Resumption 2021 Enugu state – January 18, 2020

The State Commissioner for Education, Prof. Uche Eze, in a meeting between the Ministry and major stakeholders in the sector, on Monday reveals that Schools in Enugu are to resume on January 18, 2020.

He further said all schools are to comply with the Covid-19 safety guidelines.

Osun State Resumption Date 2021 – January 18, 2021

The Osun State Commissioner for Education has directed all schools to resume January 18, 2021, for the continuation of first term 2020/2021 academic session while teachers will resume a week before on the 18th of January. First-term vacation will be on 5th March 2021.
