                                               Teacher’s Activities

Activity one (1): Draw out sentences from the students about what a library is about the school livrary.

Activity two (2): Explain what a library is to them and talk about the people who work in a library and library organization.

Activity three (3): To guide the pupils in writing a detailed composition about the topic, write and explain the following guidelines on the board.

Activity four (4): Look at, interpret, and explain the example.


Paragraph one (1):  Write About what a library is and why it is important that every school should have a library.

Paragraph two (2): Write about your school library: it size, organization, the librarian and his/her duties.

Paragraph three (3): Write about the departments in your school library and when pupils usually go there.


    A library means a collection of books are often kept in a library for readers to have access to them. A school without a library is unthinkable these days. Library helps pupils to develop reading culture and also helps them to have access to other education materials on various subjects.

     My School has a very big library. It is a beautiful and well situated. There are many shelves in it. Each shelf has books on one subject only. There is a card for every book. Books are arranged according to their numbers. The librarian issues books to pupils. The Librarian’s name is Mr. Okon. He is a very kind person.

        The major thing pupils do in my school library is reading. Some pupils also borrow books from the library. Every pupil apply for a card and get it. No pupil can keep a book for more than a month.  Defaulters are fined.

        My school Library has many departments. There is the reception, reading section, research section and reference section, Pupils go to the library during free periods or after school. The calm and quiet atmosphere of my school library help’s pupils to concentrate. My school library is the best in town!

Pupil’s Activity two (2): Write with care and in details a composition about a story you have been told.
