Qualifications and Requirements:
A First Degree (a minimum of Second Class Upper) from a recognized University relevant to the subjects being offered in Junior and Senior Secondary Education:
Humanities/Arts (English Lang, Literature,); Mathematics; Sciences (Basic Science, Physics, etc.); Social Sciences (Social Studies, Economics, etc.); Computers/ICT; Vocational/Technical (Basic Tech, Tech. Drawing, PHE, etc.); Foreign Languages (French, Spanish, German); etc.
A higher degree in relevant discipline will be an added advantage.
Graduates outside the field of education must have a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE)
Registration with the Teachers’ Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) is compulsory.
Graduates of foreign and Nigerian universities are eligible.
Experienced Required
At least 3 years teaching experience in the relevant subject(s)
A fresh graduate who is confident about his/her competence in teaching may also apply
Possessing certificates in any of the Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) Continuous Professional Development Qualifications will be an added advantage
Good knowledge and experience of teaching the subject(s) in Cambridge Secondary Checkpoint or/and International General Certificate of Senior Education (IGCSE) is an added advantage

Job Title: History Teacher

Job Summary
The Teacher of History will plan, prepare and deliver instruction to students in Junior Secondary School 1 – 3 (JS 1-3) and Senior Secondary School (SS 1-3) in accordance with the Nigerian National Policy on Education and regulations of Jesuit Memorial College.
The teacher will cover effectively and efficiently every item in the scheme of work in use in the school while also teaching the students all they need in everyday life in relation to History.
Above all, every teacher in Jesuit Memorial College is a role model to the students.
Qualifications
B.Sc. (History) or its equivalent is required. Any higher degree or qualification, especially in the field of History, is an advantage.
Experience:
At least 2 years teaching experience in a similar role. Any other experience relating to History is an advantage.
Personal Qualities:
Effective communication and presentation skills, good command of English Language, a good understanding of adolescent psychology, good interpersonal skills, a team player, ability to work effectively with minimum supervision, proficiency in the use of Office Suites like Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
