                              CONTENT OF THE LESSON

MEANING OF LOYALTY

Loyalty is being faithful, showing support to a person, institution or something. As a good citizen of a country. We have to be loyal and supportive to our nation.

EVIDENCE OF LOYALTY

1. Obedience to parents, elders, leaders in the society.
2. Obedience to rules and regulations in the society.
3. Respect to our parents, elders, leaders.
4. Respect for nation and national symbols.
5. Strong spirit to serve and defend our nation.
6. Good representation of our nation.
7. Standby even when things are tough.
8. Rendering assistance and making personal sacrifice.

CONSEQUENCES OF DISLOYALTY

Disloyalty is showing unfaithfulness to the nation or fellow human.

The following are the consequences of disloyalty:

1. Attack from external enemies.
2. Delay in development.
3. High level of corruption
4. Failure
5. Poverty

SOME NATIONAL AGENCIES WHICH SHOW LOYALTY

1. Military Services such as Nigeria Army, Air force, Navy.
2. Law enforcement Services such as Economic and financial  crime Commission (EFCC), National Drug Law Enforcement  Agency (NDLEA), Nigeria Police Force (NPF), Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) etc.
3. National Youth Service Corps (NYSC)
4. Voluntary Services such as the Girls’ Guide, Red Cross, Man – O – War, Boys’ Scout, and some other Non-Governmental Organization.

PRESENTATION

• The Teacher revises the previous term lessons (WHY WE STUDY CIVIC EDUCATION).
• Teacher leads the pupils to understand the topic: LOYALTY – NATIONAL CONSCIOUSNESS
