A FOOTBALL MATCH
I was taken to Onikan Stadium, Lagos, where I watched a live football match between Shooting star and Enugu rangers. The match started at 4:30 pm in the evening.
As the match started, I saw three officials who wore yellow shirts and black shorts different from the jerseys of the two clubs. The one on the field is referred to as the referee and the remaining two are referred to as the lines – men. Ten minutes into the first half, shooting stars scored their first goal. It came through the captain, who wore jersey number 10. The second and third goal came through the same person a few minutes’ intervals. The first half of the match lasted for 45 minutes. The second half which also lasted for another 45 minutes started by 5:15 p.m. at about 40 minutes into the second half, Enugu rangers who were three goals down, scored their first goal through their captain.
The entire match took a whole of 90 minutes with shooting star leading by 3 goals to 1 over Enugu Rangers. The minister of sports who was in attendance at the stadium was called upon to present the trophy to the winning team. The Match was interesting and the fans went home Jubilating.
