LESSON OBJECTIVES
By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives:cognitive, emotive and psychomotor and should be able to:
- discuss the different boiling methods.
- state advantages and disadvantages of boiling method.
ENTRY BEHAVIOR
The pupils are required to already know how to cook.
INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS
The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:
- Charts showing the different cooking methods.
- Food ingredients for meal preparation.
- Cooking pot, stove, oven, frying pan, etc.
- Relevant books.
TEACHING METHOD – Select a desirable and appropriate methods for the lessons.
Remark:Teachers should always introduce activities that will excite learners interest or guide them to the lessons, regardless of the teaching methods used.

BOILING METHOD
Boiling method is the process of cooking food in boiling water. Examples are rice, beans, yam, egg, meat, etc.
ADVANTAGES OF BOILING METHOD
- It is easy and quick method.
- It makes food soft.
- It makes food easy for digesting.
- Many foods can be cooked by boiling.
DISADVANTAGES OF BOILING METHOD – Some foods nutrients can be lost in boiling water, e.g. vitamin.
PRESENTATION
- The teacher embrace the following measures, to deliver the lesson::
- To present the lesson, the teacher reviewed the former lesson. Based on this, s/he asks the pupils some questions;
- Guides discussion on boiling methods of cooking.
- Learners Activities – Participate in the discussions.
- Gives a board summary.
- Learners Activities – Copy the board summary.
CONCLUSION
