The Federal Government has announced the third term (3rd) resumption date for primary and secondary schools across the country.
The Federal Government has instructed that all schools (primary and secondary, private and public) reopen on the same date in order to synchronize academic and non-academic activities in all primary and secondary schools in Nigeria.
The Federal Government of Nigeria, through the Federal Ministry of Education, has declared the resumption of academic activity in both primary and secondary schools in Nigeria. Academic activities will resume in the third term of the academic year 2022/2023.
The ministry of education has set Monday, May 9th, 2022 as the official resumption date for all schools. This is to ensure that all academic activities for the academic year 2022/2023 follow the authorized academic calendar.
The aforesaid resumption date is binding on all schools in the country, including all Unity schools (Federal and State government colleges). To coincide with the September resumption, which marks the start of a new academic session, the third term has been scheduled to run for three and a half months.
All Federal Government Colleges (unity schools), according to the federal ministry of education, will reopen as follows:
Sunday, May 8, 2022 — Junior Secondary School (day and boarding pupils)
Monday, May 9th, 2022 – Senior Secondary Schools (day and boarding students).
NOTE: Other states should wait for further information from their state Education Ministry else make use of the 2021/2022 State Academic Calendar.
