WEEK 1: Revision of First Term Work

WEEK 2: Addition of 2 –Digit Numbers Without Exchange or Renaming
TEACHERS’S ACTIVITIES:
At the end of the lesson, Pupils should be able to:
- add two –digit numbers with exchanging or renaming
e.g.
70 + 6 = 76
10 + 9 = 19
80 + 15 = 95
But 15 = 10 + 5
80 + 15 = 80 + 10 + 5 = 95

WEEK 3: Subtraction Of 2 –Digit Numbers With Exchanging Or Renaming.
LESSON OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the lesson, Pupils should be able to:
- Subtract 2 –digit numbers with exchanging or renaming
e.g. 5 4 = 50 + 4
– 4 7 40 + 7-
Since 4 is less than 7 in their column, then it becomes.
20 + 14
- 40 + 7-
- 0 + 7

WEEK 4: Addition Of 3 – Digit Numbers Without Remaining Or Exchanging.

WEEK 6: Odd and Even

LESSON OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the lesson, Pupils should be able to:
- Define odd and even number
- Identify odd and even numbers by building. Into two rows. i.e.

- Establish that the sum of the two odd numbers is even e.g.
- 1 + 3 = 4
- 5 + 7 = 12

WEEK 7: Open Sentences – Involving Addition and Subtraction
LESSON OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the lesson, Pupils should be able to:
- Find missing numbers in open sentence;
- Solve simple quantitative aptitude problem

WEEK 8: Multiplication: By Using Repeated Addition (Additive Multiplication)
LESSON OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the lesson, Pupils should be able to:
- Multiply numbers using repeated addition
e.g.
2 + 2 + 2 = 6
4 + 4 = 8
- Apply correct symbol for multiplication as “X”
I.e. 2 + 2+ 2 = 2 x 3 = 6
00 + 00 + 00 = 00 00 00 = 6
4 + 4 = 4 x 2 = 8
0000 + 0000 = 0000 0000 = 8

WEEK 9: Multiplication Of 2 Digit Numbers By 2 Or 3 Without Remaining Or Exchanging.
LESSON OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the lesson, Pupils should be able to:
- Use counters to carry out multiplication as repeated addition.
- Apply the values of multiplication in everyday activities.
- Give examples of daily activities where multiplication is necessary.
Thus: 1 dozen of books = 12 books.
Then 3 dozen of books =

WEEK 11: Revision of Term’s Work.
LESSON OBJECTIVES: teacher revises second terms’ work and allow pupils to ask questions on difficult area.
