This is to inform all Principal, Proprietor, Proprietress, Teachers and Students that the Director of Lagos State Government Ministry of Education Examinations Board has release the Practical BECE Guideline for BST 2022 Academic Session.
YEAR 2022 BASIC EDUCATION CERTIFICATE EXAMINATION
GUIDELINE/ ENTRY FOR PRACTICALS IN BASIC SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY (BST)
- I am directed to inform you that in line with Basic Education policy, it is mandatory for every candidate taking part in Basic Science and Technology in Basic Education Certificate Examination at the Junior Secondary Schools (JSS) to take part in the practical aspect of the subject.
- Schools presenting candidate(s) for this subject will make the students to prepare materials indicated in each theme/section below.
- All candidate (s) takng part in this Practical aspect will be made to attempt one in each of the four sections listed below and produce ONE project in Basic Technology Section B.
SECTION A – BASIC SCIENCE
i. Grasshopper, Earthworm, Housefly, Flowering Plant, Cockroach, Pencil, Piece of paper, nails, sand and broken piece of plastic.
ii. Construct a chart for the first twenty elements of the periodic table.
iii. Empty Can, 5 pieces of nails, water. (The nails should be placed in the can with water . a week before practical test)
SECTION B – BASIC TECHNOLOGY
I. Woodwork
- Construct 3 steps wooden book shelf.
- Construct a laboratory stool
II. Electricity
- Connect 1 point of light controlled by 2 Patrex switches
III. Building
- Produce a mable side table.
SECTION C – PHYSICAL AND HEALTH EDUCATION
- Athletics
- Soccer
- Gymnastic – Mat or Mattress
- Table Tennis
SECTION D – COMPUTER (INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY)
- Complete Computer System
- Printer
- A4 Paper for Printing
Schools are requested to forward to the Board starting from Monday 14th March to Thursday 14th April, 2022, the list of candidates (score sheet) writing the subject using the format below:

4. PLEASE NOTE:
- Schools that failed to submit Practical list on or before the stipulated date will not be assigned Assessors.
- Candidates can be made to improvise where applicable.
- Group work is allowed. A group should not be more than 20 students.
