School Resumption: Minister of Education meets State Commissioners of Education on Tuesday

Schools in Lagos resume on 3rd August, 2020

Both private and public schools in Lagos will resume from August 3, 2020, after Governor Sanwo-Olu declared this on Friday 3, of July 2020, while providing an update on the COVID-19 situation report, at Lagos House, Marina, Lagos.

According to the Governor, Senior Secondary three (SS3) and Technical class 3 are to restart while Junior Secondary school three (Jss3) and primary six (pry 6) will wait for evaluation for one -two week(s).

Also, the president of National Association of Proprietors of Schools (NAPSS), Chief Yomi Otubela, has directed its members to Conduct Courses for three to four hours and that Students for different classes should not resume school the same time to avoid overcrowding. Schools should have their infrared thermometer and that teachers should avoid marking students’ books.

Meanwhile,   all state commissioner of education will meet with the Minister of education on Tuesday, July 7, 2020,  to finalise the date and guidelines for school resumption.
