WEEK 1: REVISION OF 2ND TERM’S WORK
WEEK 2 – 3: MEANING OF FORMS OF ENERGY (LIGHT)
TEACHER’S ACTIVITIES:
- Teacher leads pupils to explain the meaning of energy.
She defines energy as: measure of a body or system to do work or produce a change
- She explains that energy can be created or destroyed. It can also be transformed from one source to another.
- She lists forms of energy as follows:
- Mechanical energy
- Electrical energy
- Light energy etc.
- She throws more light on those forms of energy.
PUPILS ACTIVITIES
- Pupils listen to teacher’s explanation
- They mention forms of energy
TEACHING/LEARNING RESOURCES/AIDS
- Textbook
- Plane mirror
- Convex and concave lenses
- Empty tins with shiny surfaces

WEEK 4 – 6: SOURCES OF LIGHT ENERGY
TEACHER’S ACTIVITIES:
- Teacher uses guided questions to give the meaning of light.
Light is a form of energy which our sense of sight can detect.
She explain meaning of source as a thing, place, activity etc. That you get something from.
- She guides pupils to mention sources of light .e.g. the sun, stars, fire, electricity.
- Teacher displays pictures and posters of sources of light e.g. sun, candle light, etc.
- She guided pupils to realize that light is not fire but fire produces light.
- She explains that sources of light can be grouped into two:
- Natural source
- Artificial source
Natural source of light: is something that emits it owns light and not just reflects. It. E.g. sun.
Artificial source of Light – is a manmade source of light e.g. torchlight, lamp, electric bulb, etc.
PUPILS ACTIVITIES
- Pupils respond to teacher’s question.
- They mention sources of light
- They comment on the pictures and posters displayed.

WEEK 8 -10: USES OF LIGHT ENERGY
TEACHER’S ACTIVITIES:
- Teacher uses questioning method to explain the uses of light energy.
- She explains that plants and animals use light energy.
- She leads the class to mention some uses of light energy.
- Plant Use light energy to produce food.
- Animals and men use light energy to see object and pictures clearly.
- Light energy generates electric power e.g. solar, etc.
- She initiates and give guides class discussion on the uses of light energy.
PUPILS ACTIVITIES:
- Pupils respond to teacher question
- They listen to teacher’s explanation
- They mention uses of light energy.

- Pictures and posters

WEEK 11: REFLECTION OF LIGHT
TEACHER’S ACTIVITIES:
- Teacher leads pupils to give the meaning of reflection.
Reflection – ids the image that you can see in a mirror. Glass or water.
- She leads pupils to identify objects that reflect light. E.g. mirror, water.
- She directs pupils to the use of shiny surfaces or mirror to reflect light and form images by placing objects.
- In front of a mirror.
- Between two or more mirrors
PUPILS ACTIVITIES:
- Pupils identify objects that reflect light
- They performed the following activities with mirrors and describe their observations.
- Point a mirror or shiny surface facing a bright light at a dark corner.
- Look at their faces in the mirror
- Hold a pencil in front of a mirror.
- They tabulate their observations

- Lenses convex and concave lenses
