                              WEEK 1

1. Speech work: Stress pattern
2. Structure: Reading a literary book
3. Reading: Teaching of new words – meaning and comprehension
4. Grammar: Identify linking words, sentences of the paragraph
5. Writing: Descriptive/ Narrative essay
6. Dictation: Words/ sentences from the passage read.

                                 WEEK 2

1. Speech work: A passage from a folk tales
2. Structure: A memorable football march
3. Reading: teaching of new words and comprehension
4. Grammar: Describe a memorable event and what makes it memorable
5. Writing: Re-arrange these words to tell the story why snail move slowly
6. Dictation: Selected Words/ sentences from the passage read.

                              WEEK 3

1. Speech work: Question Tags: Using modal auxiliaries e.g Can, May, Will, Shall etc.
2. Structure: Correct forms of will, shall and may in question tags.
3. Reading: Teaching of new words, meaning, oral and written comprehension
4. Grammar: Using question tags
5. Writing: Narrative passage i.e. an eye witness account of things done, said and seen.
6. Dictation: Selected Words/ sentences from the passage read.

                                  WEEK 4

1. Speech work: Responsible parenthood and family welfare
2. Structure: Identify different types of marriages, advantages and disadvantages of each.
3. Reading: Teaching of new words, oral and written comprehension
4. Grammar: Learn these words and their meaning and some selected words from the passage.
5. Writing: Passage based on public notice do not smoke, Avoid HIV/AIDS etc.
6. Dictation: Selected Words/ sentences from the passage read.

                                             WEEK 5

1. Speech work: Work – Movable  adverbial phrases in sentences in initial and final position
2. Structure: Make sentences from the table
3. Reading: Teaching of new words, meaning, oral and written comprehension
4. Grammar:  identify the options, say weather they advise, advertise or warn
5. Writing: Copy a poem with emphasis on the format: crooked song
6. Dictation: Selected Words/ sentences from the passage read.

                      WEEK 6

1. Speech work: Intonation and stress
2. Structure: passage on means of transport
3. Reading: Teaching of new words, meanings and comprehension
4. Grammar: information to close  friends, parents, uncle
5. Writing: Relative clauses
6. Dictation: Selected Words/ sentences from the passage read.

                             WEEK 7

1. Speech work: The book the owl, the Pussy cat
2. Structure: Adverbial clauses using when, if, unless, if not.
3. Reading: Teaching of new words, oral and written comprehension
4. Grammar: Adverbial clause of time
5. Writing: Poetry
6. Dictation: Selected Words/ sentences from the passage read.

                          WEEK 8

1. Speech work: passage on habits of worship among Nigerian’s
2. Structure: Study some words and use them to make sentences
3. Reading: Teaching of new words, oral and written comprehension
4. Grammar: Adverbial clause of time
5. Writing: composition on how man change his environment
6. Dictation: Selected Words/ sentences from the passage read.

                       WEEK 9

1. Speech work:  conditional sentences expressing wishes and desire that are unlikely to be fulfilled
2. Structure: class drama-use stress and intonation to express a wide range of emotions
3. Reading: Teaching of new words- meaning – comprehension
4. Grammar: Make sentences out of the table
5. Writing: fill in the gap to turn the poem into a prose
6. Dictation: Selected Words/ sentences from the passage read.

                                         WEEK 10

1. Speech work: songs
2. Structure: Passage on one of the Landmarks in Nigeria
3. Reading: Teaching of new words, meaning and comprehension
4. Grammar: Past participle present continuous and past participle tenses
5. Writing: Narrative  passage on theft
6. Dictation: Selected Words/ sentences from the passage read.

                                         WEEK 11

1. Speech work: songs
2. Structure: Eating habits among Nigerians
3. Reading: Teaching of new words meaning and comprehension
4. Grammar: Word search
5. Writing: Name other Landmark in Nigeria apart from Owufall
6. Dictation: Selected Words/ sentences from the passage read.
